- Pallet A platform with a flat under-surface onto which dead load is bulk loaded and designated to be locked on a position/bay as a unit. See also unit load device.
- Pantry Removable catering equipment.
- Pantry Distribution Allocation of galley equipment, food, service items etc. to specified locations or regardless of location.
- Pantry Distribution Element A specific allocation in a pantry distribution.
- Participating Airlines Those airlines which are party to the IATA Multilateral Interline Traffic Agreement and have entered into an agreement for the issuance of Automated tickets in a particular country/area.
- Participating Carrier A carrier over whose routes one or more sections of carriage under the air waybill or ticket is undertaken or performed.

- Participating Offer Airline An Airline (that may be the marketing or operating if applicable) other than the Offer Responsible Airline involved in an Offer or subsequent Order.
- Party An individual, a group, or a body having a role in the air transport industry. Party has a legal connotation in a business transaction.
- Party Role The role of a party. A set of connected behaviors, rights, obligations, beliefs, and norms as conceptualized by parties.
- Pass A card, ticket, or permit giving authorization for the holder to enter or have access to a place, form of transportation, or event.
- Passenger Any person carried on an aircraft and covered by a ticket.
- Passenger Any person, except members of the crew, carried or to be carried in an aircraft with the consent of the carrier.
- Passenger Any person except members of the crew carried or to be carried with the consent of the carrier, on board of any transport vehicle such as aircraft, train, bus, ship.
- Passenger (carbonised documents) Coupon The portion of the Passenger Ticket and Baggage Check or Excess Baggage Ticket that constitutes the passenger’s written evidence of the journey.
- Passenger Activity An activity related to a passenger such as “give passenger some assistance“.
- Passenger Coupon It is the portion of the Automated Ticket/Boarding Pass (ATB) that constitutes the passenger’s printed evidence of the journey.
- Passenger Function A function related to a passenger such as authentication or security conformance. Refer to business architecture pillar.
- Passenger Group A number of individual passengers traveling under one commercial name that associates them. E.g. a Tour group or a group for sales allotment from airline to agency. #EndOfDef# Group bookings are subject to special booking rules and may be eligible for special fare rules. Usage and nature of groups is left to bilateral agreements.
- Passenger Journey A collection of segments which satisfies transportation of a passenger for a given origin and destination.
- Passenger Leg Transportation of a passenger on a Dated Operating Leg.
- Passenger Movement Movement involving the transportation of a passenger.
- Passenger Name Record A record of each passenger’s travel requirements which contains all information necessary to enable reservations to be processed and controlled by the booking airline and the airline(s) participating in the carriage.
- Passenger Process A process related to a passenger, such as departures transferring, or terminating passenger process. Refer to business architecture.
- Passenger Segment Transportation of a passenger on a Dated Operating Segment.
- Passenger Standard Weights Approved passenger standard weights to be used for weight and balance calculation.
- Passenger Ticket Those portions of the ticket issued by carrier which provide for the carriage of the passenger.
- Passenger Trim Output Requirement Requirement to put specific passenger trim output on the load sheet.
- Passenger Type Code A code used to identify the type of passenger, e.g., adult, infant, etc., in order to determine the type of fare.
- Payer A person or organization that gives someone money that is due for work done, goods received, or a debt incurred.
- Payment Card A device that enables its owner (the cardholder) to make a payment by electronic funds transfer.
- Payment Information Information related to the settlement of a transaction through monetary or other compensations. In distribution standard Orders, the presence of Payment Information implies a commitment to pay.
- Payment Method A form of procedure for the payment of goods or services.
- PCTMAC Percent Mean Aerodynamic Chord (%MAC). Numerical representation of a location as a percentage of the mean aerodynamic chord (MAC). For a location (balance arm) the corresponding %MAC (%RC) is calculated by following formula: %MAC = 100*(Balance Arm - LEMAC)/MAC where MAC = length of Mean Aerodynamic Chord in length units LEMAC = horizontal distance in length units from the reference datum to location of the Leading Edge.
- Penalty Information related to a punishment imposed for breaking a law, rule, or contract.
- Performance Indicator A set of measures that help a company determine if it is reaching its performance and operational goals. Indicators can be both financial and non-financial, and there is no one set of indicators used by all companies.
- Permission The action of authorizing, or fact of being authorized.
- Phone A telephone number is a sequence of digits assigned to a fixed-line telephone subscriber station connected to a telephone line or to a wireless electronic telephony device, such as a radio telephone or a mobile telephone, or to other devices for data transmission via the public switched telephone network (PSTN) or other private networks
- Physical Property A property used to characterize matter and energy and their interactions. E.g. weight.
- Pilferage/shortage Baggage Items are reported or known to be missing from a piece(s) of baggage.

- PNR Address A term used to designate an alpha-numeric code referring to a specific area in the memory of an automated reservations system in which a given Passenger Name Record (PNR) is stored.
- Point A particular spot, place, or position in an area or on a map, object, or surface.
- Point of Sale As defined in AIRIMP, SIPP or as bilaterally “Point of Sale Information” is a collection of data that identifies the requestor
- Point of Turnaround The farthest geographical fare break (between two fare components) from the Pricing Unit origin.
- Portion One segment or consecutive segments (even though gap intervenes) via any one Member.
- Postal Address Natural or physical address used for postal service. May be a building address, airport address, etc.
- Potable Water Distribution Distribution of potable water to each individually specified potable water tank or to all tanks.
- Potable Water Distribution Element A specific allocation in a potable water distribution.
- Potable Water Tank Tank of potable water located in the cabin.
- Pre-flight Check An internal procedure in which a Member checks its reservations records to eliminate duplicate reservations, incorrect recording, or other errors.
- Premium Economy Class A class of service with seating standards which may be superior to those provided on economy/tourist class but less liberal than standards provided in business class.
- Premium Economy Fare The fare established for a premium economy class service.
- Prepaid Ticket Advice The notification by teletype, commercial wire or mail that a person in one city has requested issuance of prepaid transportation as described in the authority, to a person in another city.
- Preprinted Document Number A document number that is preprinted on the traffic document at the time of manufacture.
- Price The amount of money expected, required, or given in payment for something.
- Price Amount A monetary quantity expected (or given) in payment for something.
- Price Class A price point within a particular Cabin Type (sometimes referred to as “Fare Families“).
- Price Component Individual elements that comprise the total price of a product or service.
- Price Factor Elements with the capacity to produce effects on the price.
- Price Guarantee Obligation that a price will not change.
- Price Quote This is pertinent information for an order change involving re-pricing as it provides the order pricing history e.g. indicating that an order has already been priced a number of times and the pricing source and history.
- Price Restriction Boundaries or rules of variance of price amount.
- Price Valuation The monetary worth of something, especially as estimated by a valuer.
- Price Variance Acceptable amount and/or percentage of the total amount by which the Order Item price can vary. Example: 20 USD, 2 Percent Price Variance supports specifying Payment Processing Rules, including payment failure.
- Pricing Method Method adopted by an organization to set a product or service’s selling price.
- Pricing Unit A journey or part of a journey which is priced as a separate entity, i.e. is capable of being ticketed separately
- Prime Host Airline The airline which controls the System in which other airlines are hosted.
- Printer A device for printing text or pictures or barcodes, especially one linked to a computer.
- Procedure A series of actions conducted in a certain order or manner.
- Process A series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end.
- Product Item or service offered for sale. This could be for example a travel product, or also a product from a supplier such as from an aircraft manufacturer.

- Product Definition Information related to the properties, characteristics, and descriptions of a service or product which can be sold and distributed.
- Promotion Information related to publicizing a product, organization, or venture so as to increase sales or public awareness.
- Proportional Rate A rate which is used in combination with other rates to establish a through rate.
- Prorate (Here used as noun) A portion of a joint fare, rate or charge obtained by proration.
- Proration The division of a joint fare, rate or charge between the carriers concerned on an agreed basis.
- Protecting Reservation A tentative reservation on a Member other than one originally preferred by passenger and subject to cancellation or change to definite status on demand of Member holding the tentative reservation in accordance with applicable procedures.
- PTC Passenger Type Code. A code used to identify the type of passenger, e.g., adult, infant, etc., in order to determine the type of fare.
- Published Charge A charge, the amount of which is specifically set forth in the carrier’s fares or rates tariff.
- Published Fare A fare, the amount of which is specifically set forth in the carrier’s fares tariff.
- Published Rate A rate, the amount of which is specifically set forth in the publication the carrier normally uses to establish such rates.
