Cathay Pacific Statement on Fuel Surcharge Increase (12 March 2026)
The price of jet fuel has approximately doubled since March amid the latest developments in the Middle East.
As such, Cathay Pacific announces today that it will be adjusting the fuel surcharge effective 18 March 2026. In accordance with the established mechanism, the fuel surcharge will be increased as follows:

It applies to all tickets issued on CX, regardless of airline inventory, class, or fare type (including Prime tickets).
The following amounts will now apply:
For CX flight coupons between HKG and Southwest Pacific, North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa.
Between Japan and USA, between USA/Spain and Brazil/Chile/Peru, 
between Australia/New Zealand and Chile, between United Kingdom/South Africa and Brazil, 
between Qatar and Brazil/Croatia/Kenya/Russia/Serbia/ Seychelles/South Africa/Ukraine.
Until 17 March 2026 EUR 65* USD 72.90
From18 March 2026 EUR 130* USD 149.20
Tkt departure from Japan (JP-USA) EUR 85* JPY 15 500
 
For CX flight coupons between HKG and South Asian Sub-Continent:
Until 17 March 2026 EUR 30* USD 33.80
From18 March 2026 EUR 60* USD 69.40
 
For CX flight coupons not specified above:
Until 17 March 2026 EUR 17* USD 18.20
From18 March 2026 EUR 32* USD 37.20
Tkt departure from Japan (JP-TW/HK) EUR 44* JPY 8 000
 
The fuel surcharge must be collected by the issuing agency and is indicated under code YR in the taxes.
This surcharge does not apply to ferries to/from Hong Kong on code-share with CX.
